Jackson arrested for theft

The Aledo Police Department and Mercer County Sheriff's Department have been investigating a felony theft. This theft investigation led to a warrant being issued for Chastity M. Jackson, 39, of Aledo. Ms. Jackson was arrested on the two-count Felony Theft warrant on Wednesday, October 23. Ms. Jackson was transported to the Mercer County Sheriff's Department where she later posted the required bond (which was $50,000 10 percent applies) and was released with a pending court date. This is an on-going investigation.

Aledo Police Chief J. Michael Sponsler indicated that The Mercer County Athletic Boosters had approached the Aledo Police Department with a complaint earlier this year and his department has been conducting an investigation since mid to late August.

Jackson is being charged with a Class 2 Felony indicating the amount to be between $500 and $10,000.
