Rock Island, Ill. – Augustana College’s annual Dance Marathon will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 1-7 p.m. in the Gävle Room of the Center for Student Life (3435 9½ Ave.).

Dance Marathon was first held at Augustana in 2001 and is a student-run organization that benefits the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital in Iowa City and Children’s Miracle Network.

At the Augustana event, approximately 350 students and faculty stay on their feet to raise money and awareness for the Children’s Miracle Network. Along with musicians and performers, families who have overcome a child’s illness, families who are continuing the fight, and those who have lost the battle come to inspire the students.

Dance Marathon is a nationwide student-run philanthropy at more than 150 schools across the country.

The event is not open to the public; however, those wishing to make a donation can send checks to Augustana Office of Student Life and Leadership, Attn: Dance Marathon, 639 38th St., Rock Island, IL 61201.
