Mercer County Republicans celebrate 74th annual Lincoln Day Dinner
ALEDO, Ill. – For a remarkable 74 years, Republicans have gathered annually in MercerCounty for a Lincoln Day Dinner event that helps launch the election season.
This year will be no different as Republicans gather from 5 to 9 p.m. March 8 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Aledo. Keynote speakers will include state Sen. Darin LaHood, state Rep. Don Moffitt and former U.S. Rep. Bobby Schilling, who is seeking to regain his post this year. Also speaking will be candidates for county offices, including sheriff, treasurer, clerk and CountyBoard.
The yearly fundraiser for the Mercer County Republican Central Committee will include a social hour and cash bar beginning at 5 p.m. with a silent auction for a Teddy Roosevelt bust, a ham dinner beginning at 6:20, an auction by Dale Jones of 10 select homemade pies and desserts at 6:45 p.m., and speakers making their presentations starting at 7 p.m.
