On Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, Outdoor Connections had their 2nd Annual Angling Adventure at Sponsler’s Pond. Outdoor Connections was started by David Langum and was spawned out of Grace Evangelical Free Church. “The goal is to bring men together to enjoy the outdoors and build a relationship with Christ and each other.” Dave Langum stated during the Fish Fry.

This year’s event included a fish fry after the ice fishing challenge, door prizes, awards for the most fish caught and for the biggest fish caught, fellowship, and a lot of fun. Dave invited Wayne Fountain, a long time friend from the Quad Cities down to speak about “What’s Really Important” and Ben Harrouff of rural Aledo won the award for most fish caught and biggest fish caught.

Outdoor Connections has many other events throughout the year including a men’s fishing challenge in May, an archery challenge in September, and a wild game feed during the winter. “These events are suitable for fathers to introduce their children to these outdoor activities.” For more information about Outdoor Connections or for information about their next event contact Dave Langum at langum@mchsi.com or 309-737-4407.
