APD makes arrests
On March 6, 2014 the Aledo Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Bryan W. Cunningham, 29, of Aledo. The Aledo Police Department was investigating an incident involving a stolen 2006 Chevy Pickup and a Forgery. The arrest warrant was for Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Forgery and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The bond on the warrant was set at $50,000 (10 percent applies). On Thursday, March 6, 2014 around 3 p.m., Mr. Cunningham was taken into custody in the 600 block of N.E. 7th Avenue by the Aledo Police Department. Mr. Cunningham was transported to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department where he is being held on the required bond.
On Sunday, March 9, 2014 around 12:20am an Officer of the Aledo Police Department while on routine patrol made contact with a subject in the 400 block of S.W. 2nd Street. The Officer noticed the subject, dressed all in black, standing in the street. During the initial contact the Officer found contraband and the subject was taken into custody. The subject was ID as Matthew R. Murphy, 32, of Aledo. Mr. Murphy was transported to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department where he was booked and being held. Mr. Murphy was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Cannabis (under 30 grams) and Possession of Drug Equipment. Mr. Murphy will have a court appearance on Monday, March 10th, 2014.
