APD makes two weekend arrests

On Friday March 14 around 11 p.m. the Aledo Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of N.W. 3rd Avenue. The traffic stop was made on a vehicle believed to be driven by a revoked driver. The driver was ID as David Gomez, 59, of Reynolds. Mr. Gomez was taken into custody and transported to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Gomez was charged with Driving While Revoked and Felony DUI (4th DUI arrest). Mr. Gomez appeared in Saturday morning court and his bond was set at $30,000  (10 percent applies).

On Sunday March 16 around 3:45 a.m. the Aledo Police Department stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of South College Avenue in reference to an incident that the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department was investigating. The traffic stop led to the arrest of Jonathan C. Swearingen, 18, of Aledo. Swearingen was taken into custody for Possession of Cannabis (Less than 10 grams) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Swearingen was transported to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department where he was booked and then posted required bond with a court date set.
