"Salute to Veterans" moumnent being constructed in Andover

Area veterans who served in Iraq or Afghanistan are invited to have their names included on a new monument honoring their service at the Veterans Memorial Garden at the Andover Lake Park. The monument will be dedicated on Sunday, June 8, during the "Salute to Veterans" service at 10:30 a.m. The cost to have a name on the monument is $75 if submitted by April 4, and $150 after that date. On Saturday, June 7, as part of Andover's "More Fun on 81" Festival, visitors will have the opportunity to see and hear several veterans' activities at the Andover American Legion Building from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. There will be presentation boards, representatives of vets groups, vets pictures and mementos, Legion Riders, a video, and patriotic cookies/lemonade/coffee served.
