Rock Island, IL - Today, Cheri Bustos announced that her campaign has accepted an invitation to an October debate sponsored initially by WQAD-TV and the Dispatch/Argus newspapers with other media partners to come. The debate will be broadcast live to voters across Illinois' 17th Congressional District via television, radio and internet live-stream, and credentialed reporters from print and other media outlets will be invited in-studio.

“Our campaign has worked extensively for weeks with local TV, newspaper and radio partners to afford voters in every corner of Illinois' 17th Congressional District an opportunity to hear firsthand from both candidates," said Jeremy Jansen, Bustos' Campaign Manager. “That is why we are pleased to accept this opportunity for all voters across our region of Illinois to learn about the stark contrast between Cheri's record of championing jobs and working families and that of ex-Congressman Schilling, who turned his back on American workers and repeatedly voted to end the Medicare guarantee.”

Jansen has agreed to meet with WQAD and a representative from Bobby Schilling's campaign in the near future to negotiate final details for the district-wide debate.
