Relay For Life of Mercer County is holding a fundraiser at La Belle Vie on Friday, May 16th from 5 to 9 p.m. La Belle Vie is located at 205 S. College Ave in downtown Aledo. Please invite your family and friends out for a fun evening filled with great food and drinks to raise money for a great cause.

The cost to attend ‘Paddle Towards a Cure’ is just $25 per person and will include five alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages as well as hors d’oeuvres that will be perfectly paired with your beverages. You can purchase your tickets to attend this fun event from Sue Hiscocks at 738-0213, Mary Flint at 582-7615, or from a Relay For Life Committee member. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Mercer County!

Mary Flint, Co-chair of the Relay For Life of Mercer County event, says, “This promises to be a fun-filled evening with lots of great food, drinks, and entertainment. Chris Sutton assures that everyone who attends will not leave hungry. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society and the work it does supporting cancer patients and their families. All of us are ‘Paddling Towards a Cure’ with each donation we give and event we support.”

An added twist to the evening’s festivities is that if Chris Sutton raises $10,000 for her team “La Bald Vie”, she will shave her head the evening of the ‘Paddle Towards a Cure’ event. For each additional $2,500 raised, another employee of La Belle Vie will shave his/her head. Donations can be made to her team via the Relay For Life website, relayforlife.org/merceril. The $10,000 does not include money donated from ticket sales, which will support ALL Relay teams.

Relay For Life is an event where teams of local businesses, schools, churches, community groups and families build awareness and raise funds - prior to and at the event - to fight cancer. While the main objective of Relay For Life is to raise money for cancer research and cancer patients, the event helps spread cancer awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their lives to cancer and unite a community in the fight against cancer.

This year’s American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Mercer County will be held from noon to midnight on June 28, 2014 at Central Park in Aledo.
