Marc Brody, Nat Geo Explorer, in Quad Cities to Open New Panda 3D Documentary at Putnam

DAVENPORT, Iowa (July 22, 2014) – Today, The Putnam announced the opening of a new National Geographic documentary Pandas: The Journey Home. This Giant Screen film tells the story of the pandas of the Wolong Panda Center and their reintroduction into the wild. Scientists and keepers work tirelessly to raise these pandas in captivity. See all the hard work that goes into the giant pandas and the training they must go through before being released into the wild.

The Putnam will be holding a public launch party on Thursday July 24th starting at 5:30PM. Tickets are $11 for adults, $10 for Seniors/Students/Military and $8 for Children ages 3-12. Included in the price are crafts such as origami and face painting, opportunities to win Panda-themed items, ticket to the movie starting at 7PM, and a Q&A session with Marc Brody, Panda Expert at the Wolong Center. According to National Geographic, “Conservationist and National Geographic grantee Marc Brody is working to conserve giant pandas and their habitat in and around China’s Wolong Nature Reserve, for which he is a senior advisor. He founded Panda Mountain, an NGO entrusted by the Wolong Administration to manage a panda conservation center and a sustainability initiative for indigenous villagers. Marc is also president of the U.S.-China Environmental Fund.”

Purchase a Retro “Reel Deal” movie pass and watch unlimited movies on the Putnam’s GIANT screen all summer long. Adult passes sell for only $35 and $25 for children ages 3 to 12, tickets to movies are also available on an individual basis. Upcoming movies include:

· Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (7/25 @ 7PM, 7/26 @ 9:30PM) - When Dr. Henry Jones Sr. suddenly goes missing while pursuing the Holy Grail, eminent archaeologist Indiana Jones must follow in his father's footsteps and stop the Nazis.
