Obituary- Edwin Eugene Weeks

Edwin "Ed" Weeks, 77, the eldest of five children, son of Wilbur and Jean Weeks. He was born and raised on a farm in Aledo. He attended rural elementary schools and graduated the class of 1955, at Aledo High School.

Following high school, he remained in the Quad Cities vicinity helping neighboring farmers, working for JI Case and then for Sinclair, and driving a semi hauling livestock to Chicago Stock Yard.

In 1957, he and Margie Carlson (Taylor Ridge) married and had five children. David, Steven, Pamela, Mike and Douglas. In 1974, Ed and Margie parted and Ed relocated to Santa Barbara, Calif. where Ed launched a career as a car salesman. In the 80's he was given the opportunity to go to work for Santa Barbara Research Center, a subsidiary of Hughes Aircraft, that was ultimately bought by Raytheon Company. Ed retired from Raytheon as a lab technician.

On Dec. 19, 1990, Ed and Deborah Crandall married at Bethany Congregational Church in Santa Barbara, Calif.

After retirement in 2003, Ed and Debbie retired to a Del Webb (Sun City) complex in Las Vegas, Nev.

Ed loved spending his leisure time fishing, camping, bowling, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

Ed is survived by his wife Deborah Weeks, his children: David (Julie), Steven (Laurie), Pamela (David) Howe, Douglas (Sherrie). His step children: Robert Crandall, Raul Zargosa, Laura (Crandall) Cogan, Mike Zargosa and Gil Velasquez. 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Weeks. He is also survived by two younger sisters, Barbara Weeks Lubke, Elko, Nev., Carolyn (Otto) Loewe, Laguna Woods, Calif., and by two younger brothers, Ronald (Anna) Janesville, Wis. and Dwayne (Margaret - Dolly) of Aledo.

According to his wishes, cremation has been accorded and memorial services were held in Santa Barbara soon after his death. Memorial Services were also held on June 28 at Mountain View Presbyterian Church, Las Vegas, Nev.
