The QC’s #1 Adventure Race –Taming of the Slough

What: The Quad Cities’ most exciting adventure race is back for the ninth year! Compete in this adventure triathlon of paddling, biking, and running. Paddle a 3.8 mile loop around scenic Campbell’s Island in the Mississippi and Campbell’s Island Slough. Bike an 8.3 mile ride, including a challenging mountain bike course through the wilds of Illiniwek Forest Preserve. Finally, run a 2 mile cross-country trek along the might Mississippi on the Great River Trail and through the off-road wooded trails of McNeal’s Reserve. There are three classes of racing with one for everyone: novice, sport, and racing. There are also three ways to participate: individually, two-person team, and three-person relay. Plus don’t forget our corporate challenge which pits local businesses against each other for glory and bragging rights. After the race join us for locally handcrafted pizza and locally brewed beer. Taming is intended to be a fun and adventurous race for everyone, right here in the Quad Cities.

When: Taming of the Slough will be held September 13th and the race begins at 8:00 a.m.

Where: Hampton Riverfront Park and Beach, Hampton, IL & Empire Park, East Moline, IL off of Illinois Highway 84.
