GALESBURG—The work of artists Susanne Nestory and Chris Holbrook will be featured in their “Off the Grid” exhibit from Nov. 10-Jan. 12 in the Building D Gallery on Carl Sandburg College’s Main Campus in Galesburg, 2400 Tom L. Wilson Blvd.

An opening reception for the exhibit will take place from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 14. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided at the reception.

Media in the exhibit will include paintings by Nestory and prints by Holbrook, who are adjunct drawing instructors at Bradley University. An overarching theme in Nestory’s work, she said, is the cultivation of a subjective language that embodies a range of psychological and emotional experience.

“My images emerge from the rhythm of making them; they are meant to be contemplative, yielding a slower experience of time,” Nestory said. “Each drawing or painting raises new questions while inspiring the work to evolve. My intention is to stage an argument or ask a question on visual terms.”
