Galesburg Community Chorus Hires New Business Manager

The Galesburg Community Chorus welcomes Sarah D. Torrance to the position of business manager. Sarah holds a master’s degree in music from the University of Idaho. She’s also an active flute soloist and chamber musician, although new to the area.

 The Chorus continues its 70th anniversary season with The Seven Joys of Christmas on Saturday,December 13 at 7:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church and the Verdi Requiem, combined with the Knox College Choir and the Monmouth College Chorale, on Saturday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Central Congregational Church.

 The Galesburg Community Chorus, directed by Dr. Tim Pahel, is the oldest community music organization in the Galesburg area. It was founded in 1945 at Knox College and the chorus retains its affiliation with the college, which provides rehearsal facilities.
