Bustos recognizes record-setting number of women in new Congress

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) joined with the women of the House Democratic Caucus in recognition that the new 114th Congress has the most women Members in American history. There are currently 104 serving.
Since taking office, Bustos has been a champion for working women and working families. Last year, she released a first-of-its-kind report on the state of women’s economic health in her region and toured Northwest and Central Illinois to discuss her findings and to hear from working women about how issues like a livable wage, equal pay for equal work and access to affordable child care affect the financial stability and success of working families. Bustos will continue to work this Congress with both Democrats and Republicans to ensure a stronger future for all working women and working families.
