It was quite the night at Rockridge Tuesday night as the Rockets defeated the Morrison Mustangs 69-43.

The game's result took a back seat to a couple of events going on that evening.

Rockridge student-athlete Drake DeKeyrel, who died on Christmas Eve, was honored prior to the game.

During the game Bryan Heath became the all-time leading scorer at Rockridge. Heath surpassed Ethan Happ at the event. Heath and Happ were teammates at one time. Now Happ is a member of the University of Minnesota basketball team.

Heath led all scorers in the contest with 26 points.

Morrison started out hot during the contest and led 14-11 after the first quarter.

The second quarter was a different story as the Rockets outscored the Mustangs 18-2 and took a 13 point lead, 29-16, into the locker room at half-time.

Heath was a big part of that rally. After scoring only two points in the first period Heath erupted for 11 in the second period including nine points on a trio of three pointers.

The Mustangs never threatened again during the contest. Toby Whiteman hit for seven points in the third quarter as the Rockets maintained a large lead, 44-33, heading into the final period.

Scoring for the Rockets were: Heath, 26; Whiteman, 17; Johnson and Frakes, six; Martens and McManus, five; Carroll, three and Hilligoss, one.
