Transcendental Meditation Presentation Feb. 4 at Sandburg
GALESBURG — Dr. Joseph Boxerman, a certified teacher of Transcendental Meditation (TM), will give a free informational presentation about TM and what it can do at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 4 in the Student Center on Carl Sandburg College’s Main Campus in Galesburg, 2400 Tom L. Wilson Blvd.
TM is a simple, natural technique practiced 20 minutes twice each day while sitting comfortably with the eyes closed. More than six million people of all ages, cultures and religions have learned it, and many who practice TM say this technique has had major benefits on reducing stress and anxiety, mood disorders, insomnia and hypertension.
The American Heart Association recommends TM as a means to reduce high blood pressure, and the National Institutes of Health has supported research on TM with almost $30 million of research grants. TM has had more than 350 peer-reviewed research studies conducted at many U.S. and international universities and research centers and has been published in more than 160 scientific journals supporting its overall health benefits.
The technique has been featured on “Good Morning America” and is practiced by many celebrities such as Jerry Seinfeld, Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Oz and Ellen DeGeneres. It has been adopted at schools, institutions and many other organizations across the country to improve the lives of their students, clients and employees.
This event is free and is open to the public. For more information about this event contact Genny Stevens, coordinator of student life, at 309.341.5332 or email@example.com.
