Mercer County 4-H Recruiting Teen volunteers age 13 – 18 to help with hunger and other community issues
Mercer County 4-H has received a $750 grant from the 4-H Feeding and Growing our Communities to help plan activities related to hunger awareness. They are recruiting teens ages 13 to 18 years old who want to volunteer to help with hunger and other issues in Mercer County to join the Teen Ambassadors group. They will have their first planning meeting on Monday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. at University of Illinois Extension office, 2106 SE Third Street, Aledo, IL along with members of the 4-H Teen Federation. On the agenda is to discuss ideas for community service projects which could include planning and serving meals for the hungry, organizing a summer youth-fest and more. If you know of a teen who wants to help their neighbors, gain experience, and develop leadership skills—then get them involved in this new opportunity!
