Rockridge Hosts IHSA Solo and Ensemble contest

On Saturday March 7th, Rockridge High School was one of 21 sites across the state which hosted the IHSA Solo and Ensemble Contest. 735 entries involving 672 students from 20 local high schools performed during the event. These included vocal and instrumental solos as well as small ensembles. Sweepstakes points are given for the performance ratings and all participating schools in the state are ranked in band, choir and orchestra as well as music departments overall within classes which represent their school enrollments. From the Rockridge site, the following schools have earned state honors and will be receiving IHSA state plaques for their performances.

Rockridge High School – Class B – 2nd place Band, 2nd place Choir, 1st place Music Department

Monmouth-Roseville High School – Class B – 1st place Choir

Knoxville High School – Class C – 1st place Orchestra

Riverdale High School – Class C – 2nd place Orchestra

Stark County High School – Class C – 3rd place Choir

Williamsfield High School – Class D – 3rd place Choir
