Softball diamond gets sound system upgrade

The Apollo softball diamond recently received a sound system upgrade thanks to the Community Projects for Aledo/Mercer County.

"The system includes a sound mixer, wireless mic and two speakers which set above the concession stand," said Mercer County High School Athletic Director Nat Zunkel. Zunkel said the system cost about $1,800. Zunkel said the system was wireless and could be controlled anywhere with an iPad. "The old system was inconsistent," said Zunkel and had bee

Daryl Bewley, MCHS softball coach said,"The system sounds wonderful." Bewley said the team will be able to play music over the sound system during practices. It's chief application will be to announce players as the enter the game or come to bat.
