DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 28, 2015) – The Putnam invites you to join us for a Navy Week celebration on May 4th and 5th! Designed by the Navy Office of Community Outreach, Navy weeks are arranged to bring America’s Navy closer to the people it protects in cities that do not have a significant naval presence. All Navy Week activities are included with general admission.

Please see below for Navy Week Activities:

10:15am and 11:15am, 5/4 and 5/5: USS Constitutions

Come see Sailors stationed aboard the world's oldest commissioned warship USS Constitution as they interact with guests in traditional 1800's uniforms and talk STEM and history.

10:00am-12:00pm, 5/4 and 5/5: Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Units

Navy EOD Technicians interact with visitors through static displays, dive suits, and robots.

10:00am-5:00pm, 5/4 and 5/5: Navy STEM Truck and Interactive Displays

Get involved with the US Navy’s Laparoscopic Simulator Trainer, Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and other interactive activities all designed to show the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) and how we use it in the Fleet! Also stop by and visit the Environmental "Stewards of the Sea" and meet Stewie, our mascot, and get an inside look at how the Navy is on the leading edge of environmental awareness.
