Come and help River Action improve ecosystem function and water quality in the Rock River Ravines Watershed. River Action, together with Black Hawk College, is hosting two invasive species removal events with the help of Augustana College’s Upper Mississippi Center on Thursday May 14th from 8am to 12pm at Black Hawk College campus and on Saturday May 30th from 8am-12Pm at the Green Valley Nature Preserve in Moline. Help improve our wild places through the removal of our region’s worst invasive species, such as honeysuckle and buckthorn. This event is part of River Action’s Urban Watershed Restoration project, a $220,000 restoration effort that includes prairie restoration, wetland creation, a stream re-route, controlled burns, and trail improvements.
