Shows and concerts coming to Andover June 6 & 7

Times have been announced for several shows and concerts during Andover’s 180th anniversary festival the weekend of June 6 and 7. These events will be held at or near the Andover Lake Park. On both Saturday and Sunday, the antique lawn & farm tractor show will run from 8 am – 4 pm. Also, the Eighth Kansas Unit Union Civil War re-enactors will give demonstrations both days, and participate in the 1 o’clock parade on Saturday. A quilt show will run from 10 am – 3 pm Saturday.

Starting at 11 am Saturday, the Mississippi Bend Model Boaters will have their model boats on the Andover Lake. At 2:30 pm, following the parade, the Blackhawk Pipes & Drums will give a concert. A Little Miss & Mr. contest will be held at 4 o’clock . The Orion Community Band will give a concert at 6 pm, with Kelly Franck singing the National Anthem. At 8:30 o’clock, Uncle Buster’s Comedy Show will be held. A fireworks show will start at dusk, with Deanna Swanson singing the National Anthem. A salute to veterans will be held Sunday morning at 10:30.

Food will be available both days; with homemade pie and sandwiches served starting at 11 am and a Pork chop supper starting at 4 pm Saturday. On Sunday, both breakfast and noon lunch will be available.
