American Cancer Society Relay For Life set for June 27th at Central Park in Aledo
Aledo, Ill. – Hundreds of people will participate in Relay For Life of Mercer County on Saturday, June 27th from noon to midnight at Central Park in Aledo. Relay For Life will honor cancer survivors, their caregivers, and pay tribute to those for whom the cure did not come soon enough.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Mercer County is a celebration where people take turns walking, running, or circling around a track “relay” style to raise funds to fight cancer. You don’t need to be a track star to come out to Relay and have a great time. Please come dance, play games, and enjoy the presence of others all while raising money to finish the fight against cancer. One of the highlights of the event is the luminaria ceremony held at night fall to honor cancer survivors, caregivers, and to remember those lost to cancer.
You don’t need to be on a team to enjoy Relay For Life. All community members are
invited to enjoy Relay For Life so please come and join us for great food and entertainment throughout the entire day. Each Relay For Life team will be selling meals and refreshments so please come to Relay For Life hungry and ready to eat delicious homemade food! Also, there will be plenty of games and activities for the kids including a jumping balloon!
Each team participating in Relay For Life of Mercer County will be conducting on-site fundraisers at the event, please come out and support the teams’ efforts by purchasing delicious food and crafts.
