Two-vehicle traffic accident

A two-vehicle accident in the early morning hours of July 22 near the Quad Cities sent one man to a Peoria hospital.

According to District 7 State Police, Mang Tum, 21, Rock Island, was westbound on Illinois 92 at 1:45 a.m. He attempted to turn onto the westbound ramp of Interstate 88 and turned into the path of a motorcycle driven by John Carlile, 43, of Hillsdale, causing a head-on collision.

Carlile was transported to OSF St. Francis Medical Center by Medforce. As of 6:15 a.m. July 22, he was listed in stable condition.

Tum was ticketed for failure to yield.
