One dead in Galesburg traffic accident

A Galesburg man died Thursday in an accident involving an SUV and a school bus. The victim was identified as Joshua F. Yeast, 19, 829 S. Whitesboro St.

According to the Galesburg Police Department, the accident took place at about 7:29 a.m. on East Fremont Street at Bateman Street. The driver of the SUV was dead at the scene. No occupants of the bus were injured.

The investigation by the Galesburg Police Department is continuing. Police are being assisted by Knox County Coroner Mark Thomas.
