Eagles cross country sweeps Rocket Booster Invite
The Mercer County boys' and girls' cross country teams both took first Tuesday (Oct. 13) at the Rocket Booster Invite at Rockridge High School. The Eagles scored 18 points, well ahead of Orion's 56.
The girls' team had an average time of 21:49.05, just more than two minutes better than Orion. Rockridge finished third and United was fourth.
Carli Skiles of Mercer County took individual honors with a time of 20:28.71. Emily Weeks finished fourth, Jenna Speer was fifth, Morgan Joy was eighth and Mady Hansen rounded out the top 10 finishers for the Golden Eagles.
The boys nipped Mid-County, 37-44. The Eagles average time was 18:20.93. Rockridge was third with 72.
Ethan Adolphson of Mercer County was fourth among the individual runners, while Cody Jackson, Ethan Morrow, Giovanni Lee, and Zach Leonhart gave Mercer County a sweep of 8-11. Caleb Kibling of Rockridge finished fifth.
