The Oct./Nov./Dec. Mercer County Historical Society Newsletter reported Aledo's Essley-Noble Museum is on the National Geographic website about tourism along the Mississippi River.

Go to www.mississippiriver.natgeotourism.com, click on places to go, then click on "Museum, Theatre, Interpretive Center, then scroll to the Essley-Noble portion.

There is a picture of the museum's Pioneer Kitchen, as well as extensive historical information about the area and highlights of the artifacts at Essley-Noble, as well as a section highlighting the genealogy and reference section.

Information about the Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge is also included on the website. The 1,400-acre Keithsburg Division is west of Aledo, north of Keithsburg.
