Do you like being creative, making something original, or having fun in the kitchen? Join Mercer County 4-H for two upcoming cooking workshops in Aledo.  

Mystery Box Challenge, Saturday, Nov. 7, 9-11 a.m.

Are you the next Master Chef Jr?  Find out as you put your cooking creativity to the test.  You’ll get mystery box of ingredients and a time limit—then you get to create a meal out of the contents. Your meal will be judged on nutrition, taste and presentation.  One winner will be chosen as the top chef. $10 person.

Cake Decorating Workshop, Saturday, Nov. 14, 9- 11 a.m.

Do you have what it takes to be the next Cake Boss? Join 4-H to find out during a fun, hands-on workshop where you will learn tips for decorating cakes such as borders and simple flowers. Each youth will receive a cake decorating kit to take home. All supplies provided. $12 person.

Both programs take place in Aledo at the College Avenue Presbyterian Church and are open to all youth ages 10 and older.  Register by calling Mercer County 4-H at (309) 582-5106 or online at web.extension.illinois.edu/hmrs
