Sen. Weaver receives committee assignments

As State Sen. Chuck Weaver (R-Peoria) finishes organizing his offices, he is announcing new committee assignments and contact information for his legislative offices.

 Senator Weaver has been asked to serve as the Republican spokesman for the Commerce and Economic Development Committee.

The Senator stated he is especially looking forward to working on this committee, “My passion is job creation and I believe this committee assignment will enable me to play a helping hand in developing policies to strengthen the Illinois economy. I think a great deal of our state’s fiscal problems can be solved by relieving ‘costs of doing business’ and doing smarter things to help grow our tax base through increased employment opportunities,” Weaver said.

He will also serve on the Senate’s Licensed Activities & Pensions Committee, which deals with hundreds of professional regulations and licensure activities. With his legal educational, Senator Weaver was also appointed to serve on the Senate Judiciary and Criminal Law Committees.
