When:    Saturday, November 14th - 5 p.m.

Where:    Aledo United Methodist Church

Aledo United Methodist Men will sponsor a Men and Ministries Night on Saturday, Nov. 14, beginning at 5 p.m. at Aledo United Methodist Church, 301 N. College Ave., Aledo.

Music will be provided by the Gospel Soul Revivers again this year and nationally recognized speaker, Rev. Sylvester Weatherall, will deliver the message.  The Gospel Soul Revivers is a group of Quad City entertainers who have been praising and serving the Lord for over 40 years. Weatherall, 59, currently serves as conference superintendent for the churches of the Spoon River District of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference of the United Methodist Church.

The organizer of the event, Steve Oaks, said the Men and Ministry Night started six years ago as a recruiting event for No Greater Love Ministries Mardi Gras trip.  Today it is much more.  This evening has become an ecumenical men’s event that includes praise, worship, food, fellowship and gives men a chance to explore and discuss many different ministry opportunities.

President of the Aledo Methodist Men, Bill Breeden, said that bringing Christian men from all denominations together for worship, accountability and service is important.  Breeden is also excited about providing a dozen or so manly soups and bread pudding for a meal for that evening.

Many ministry discussion tables will be available.  For more information contact Steve Oaks on Facebook or (309) 221-8383.
