Sherrard District 200 Superintendent Alan Boucher has been on the job for a month and a half now. The former Mercer County superintendent is enjoying his new job but misses his former colleagues.

"So far, it's been going quite well," Boucher said Thursday, Nov. 12. "It's very enjoyable getting reconnected with many people I worked with during my first time at Sherrard."

Boucher worked at the Sherrard school district from 1998-2006 before coming to Mercer County and helping shepherd the district through the Aledo/Westmer consolidation.

He said he's surprised at how little the district has changed, even though he was gone for almost 10 years.

"By far the most common thought is how much things are the same," Boucher said. "Believe it or not, I enjoy that, I enjoy that feeling. At the same time, I'm aware of missing the people of Mercer County."

The Sherrard superintendent said his missed the fellowship and camaraderie he felt with the administration and staff of District 404.

"I absolutely, thoroughly enjoyed my nine years in Mercer County and will treasure them always," he said.
