Christmas dinner at Messiah Lutheran Church

Messiah Lutheran Church in Aledo will host a Community Christmas Dinner once again this year.  Turkey, ham, and all the traditional trimmings will be prepared and served by members of the church.  Everyone in the area is welcome to attend—especially if you will be alone or unable to gather with family on Christmas Day.  Bring your whole family to the church for your celebration; we will do the cooking, and you will have time to enjoy the company of your loved ones!  There is no charge for the dinner; it is our church’s gift to the community.

Dinner will be served in the church dining room, 509 N.E. 2nd Street, at 1:00 p.m. on Christmas Day, December 25.  To give us an idea of how many to prepare for, please call the Church Office at 582-5261 or Tom and Nancy Watkins at 582-7352 for a reservation by Wednesday, December 23.  We will provide rides to the church for anyone within the city limits.  We also offer carry-outs for those in town who are homebound.

Messiah Lutheran has been hosting the Community Christmas Dinner since 1977.  For several years in the beginning, we cooked all the food at the church, then transported everything to the Senior Center for serving.  Now we cook and serve at Messiah Lutheran Church, and the dinner has grown from being known as a “senior” event to a community celebration.  We would be happy to have you join us this time as we honor the birth of our Savior on the best day of the year!
