Eagles ready for LTC tourney

The Mercer County Golden Eagles are seeded second in the Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament, which is being hosted by ROWVA-Williamsfield. All games will be played at ROWVA High School or ROWVA Elementary School in Oneida. All teams will play four games against the other teams in their respective pools. The records in pool play will determine who plays in the ninth through first place games on Saturday, Feb. 6.

                        Pool A — 1. Annawan, 4. ROWVA-Williamsfield, 5. Ridgewood, 8. Stark County and 9. Galva.


                        Pool B — 2. Mercer County, 3. Wethersfield, 6. Princeville, 7. United and 10. West Central.

Thursday, Jan 28 — At ROWVA HS gym: Annawan vs. Ridgewood at 6 p.m. and ROWVA-Williamsfield vs. Galva at 7:30 p.m.; ROWVA elementary gym: Mercer County vs. Princeville at 6 p.m. and Wethersfield vs. West Central at 7:30 p.m. Stark County and United with byes.


Friday, Jan. 29 — At ROWVA elementary gym: Galva vs. Annawan at 6 p.m. and Stark County vs. ROWVA-Williamsfield at 7:30 p.m.; At ROWVA HS gym: West Central vs. Mercer County at 6 p.m. and United vs. Wethersfield at 7:30 p.m. Ridgewood and Princeville with byes.


Saturday, Jan. 30 — At Williamsfield HS: Stark County vs. Annawan at 2 p.m., United vs. Mercer County at 3:30 p.m., Ridgewood vs. Galva at 5 p.m. and Princeville vs. West Central at 6:30 p.m. ROWVA-Williamsfield and Wethersfield with byes.


Tuesday, Feb. 2 — At ROWVA HS gym: ROWVA-Williamsfield vs. Ridgewood at 6 p.m. and Galva vs. Stark County at 7:30 p.m.; At ROWVA elementary gym: Wethersfield vs. Princeville at 6 p.m. and West Central vs. United at 7:30 p.m. Annawan and Mercer County with byes.


Friday, Feb. 5 — At ROWVA elementary gym: Ridgewood vs. Stark County at 6 p.m. and Annawan vs. ROWVA-Williamsfield at 7:30 p.m.; At ROWVA HS gym: Princeville vs. United at 6 p.m. and Mercer County vs. Wethersfield at 7:30 p.m. Galva and West Central with byes.


The pool play tiebreakers are head-to-head competition first, followed by free throw percentage and defensive points allowed. Thursday, Feb. 4, has been designated as the makeup date if inclement weather forces any pool play postponements.


The championship round is Saturday, Feb. 6, at ROWVA High School with the ninth-place game at 1 p.m., the seventh-place game at 2:30 p.m., the fifth-place game at 4 p.m., the third-place game at 5:30 p.m. and championship game at 7 p.m
