High winds causing accidents

Henry, Knox, Mercer and Rock Island counties

PRELIMINARY: Illinois State Police District 7 troopers are responding to multiple crashes due to high winds in the area. Crosswinds have pushed multiple vehicles

off the road way causing crashes. Higher standing vehicles (semi-

trucks/trailers and box-trucks) are most affected by these winds. It is

strongly encouraged that these types of vehicles postpone travel until the

wind advisory has lifted for the area.

Current Crash Locations: I-74 West at Mile Marker 19 (3 miles south of the X)

        I-80 West at Mile Marker 7 (Colona)

        US 150 at Edwards River

        I-74 West at Mile Marker 27 (3 miles south of Lynn Center)

        I-74 West at Mile Marker 26 (2 miles south of Lynn Center)
