Three charged in murder of Galesburg man; four others face various other charges

Galesburg police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old man. Seven people were arrested Thursday in connection with the incident. Three were charged with murder in connection with the death of Dakota R. Tinkham.

Police responded to 1126 Emery St. at 11:49 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, after receiving a report from a neighbor of a possible robbery that had just occurred at that location.

Upon their arrival, officers entered the residence and found Tinkham in a bedroom of the house. The Knox County coroner was called at 12:11 a.m. Thursday and he pronounced Tinkham, the resident of the house, dead at the scene.

Arrested and charged were Miguel A. Romo, 19, 363 W. Tompkins St., Galesburg: Home invasion, armed robbery and murder; Raymond M. Gable, 18, 112 Country Elms Estates, Galesburg: Home invasion and armed robbery, and a 16-year-old juvenile: Home invasion, armed robbery and murder. The juvenile is being held at the Mary Davis Home.

Also arrested and charged were Jovendia C. Williams, 18, 1067 W. Berrien St., Galesburg: Home invasion, armed robbery and murder; Charles E. Posey, 18, 166 234th St., Alexis: Home invasion and armed robbery; Dalton B. McKee, 20, 122 N. Park Circle, Monmouth: Home invasion and armed robbery. A 17-year-old juvenile was also arrested.

Bond was set at $1 million for all those arrested, meaning they would have to post $100,000 bail to be released.
