CLAYTON EARL SAUNDERS, 91, of Sun City West, Arizona, and formerly New Boston, Illinois, died peacefully March 13, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.  Survived by his wife of 67 years Doris, daughters Sharon (Michael), Connie (Jeff) and Bonnie (Tim), 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous others that called himuncle, grandpa or friend.  Clayton was a man of many talents and passions and held jobs as such, including but not limited to Shell Station proprietor, volunteer fireman, truck driver, school bus supervisor, Mercer County Board Member, amateur aviation expert, Sundaymorning golf analyst and perhaps most fondly remembered as Postmaster of New Boston for over 25 years.  He served proudly in the United States Army during World War II and was a loyal member of the New Boston Masonic Lodge.  His greatest passion was his family, with whom he treasured years past riding unbuckled on his moped and making homemade ice cream, and later watching them grow with his never-ending love and support.  Clayton was a teller of tales, a friend to all and will be missed greatly by those who were lucky enough to have met him.

A celebration of his life was held with immediate family in Sun City West, AZ last weekend. Services pending in New Boston, IL this summer.
