Bank Donation to Local 4-H Clubs

Supports Youth in Agriculture

Viola, IL, Thursday, August 20, 2020 Farmers State Bank recently donated $3,300 to eleven area 4-H groups for the purpose of supporting youth in agriculture. These 4-H clubs each received $300 from Farmers State Bank:

1. Alexis All Stars

2. Country Kids

3. Hamlet Handy Helpers

4. Joy-Eliza Ag

5. Kimel

6. Lynox Loyals

7. Peppy Partners

8. Rio Livestock

9. Saddle Teens

10. Sherrard 4-H Club

The Friends of 4-H - Mercer County Fair was also a recipient of a $300 gift. The donations are meant to support programs for young people to learn real-world skills that will prepare them for the challenges of today and tomorrow.

“Agriculture and agri-businesses are the life-blood of the communities in which we do business," said Bret Robinson, President of Farmers State Bank. "Even in this pandemic period, we felt it was essential to support our young people and 4-H programs, which fosters our agricultural heritage.”

The Farmers State Bank of Western Illinois opened for business in 1910 as the Farmers State Bank of Alpha. Today it has offices in Alexis, Aledo, Alpha, New Windsor, Viola and Woodhull serving a three-county area.
