MERCER COUNTY REPORTS COVID-19 RELATED DEATHS, 45 NEW POSITIVE CASES

(December 7, 2020, Aledo, IL) Today the Mercer County Health Department (MCHD) is reporting another COVID-19 related death, a man in his 70s. This brings the total number of Mercer County deaths to fifteen.

(December 9, 2020, Aledo, IL) The Mercer County Health Department (MCHD) today announced three additional COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the county’s total to eighteen. The deaths included a woman in her 60s, a man in his 80s, and a woman in her 90s.

(December 10, 2020, Aledo, IL) Today the Mercer County Health Department (MCHD) is reporting another COVID-19 related death, a man in his 90s. This brings the total number of Mercer County deaths to nineteen.

(December 13, 2020, Aledo, IL) The Mercer County Health Department (MCHD) today announced an additional COVID-19 related death, a woman in her 70s, bringing the county’s total to twenty.

Mercer County has also experienced another 45 new cases of COVID-19. This brings the county’s total to 896 cases since reporting began. The latest cases include:

2 males in their 80s

1 male in his 70s

4 males in their 60s

1 male in his 50s

1 male in his 40s

3 males in their 30s

2 males in their 20s

3 males in their teens

3 males under the age of 13

3 females in their 80s

2 females in their 70s

2 females in their 60s

4 females in their 50s

2 females in their 40s

4 females in their 30s

4 females in their 20s

3 females in their teens

1 female under the age of 13

At this time there are 109 individuals isolating at home and 7 are hospitalized. Deaths, as reported above, now total 19. In addition, the health department has identified 204 close contacts of these individuals. Due to Federal privacy restrictions, release of any additional information on cases is prohibited.

To reduce the risk to yourself and others, please continue to avoid crowds, wear a mask when you are in public, keep a minimum of 6 feet between you and other people, and continue to frequently wash your hands.
