JEREMIAH 23:5,6

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS."

JEREMIAH 23:5,6

This is a prophecy that forshadows the nature and the work of Jesus Christ.

As to the origin of our Lord and Saviour:

He will come from the human race. He's called a Branch. He entered into the world by birth. He was made of a woman.

In this we see His oneness with us. His humanity, his sympathy. A true example and representative of a High Priest "ever interceeding for us."

He comes from the family of David.

He is born a King,a rightful sovereign.

He comes quietly and gradually, a bud that grows slowly.

Jesus Christ began His life as an infant and grew in physical, mental, and spiritual powers. Luke 2:52.

His Kingship is like His Kingdom, a quiet and gradual growth, like a tree from a seed. Matthew 13:31,32.

Growth dosen't always come to His Church in quick and rapid growth. As His Church, individually and corporately, we experience what we consider to be, slow growth. But it is all in His time and in His hands, but WE DO GROW, as we surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, WE DO GROW, spiritually.
