God's Word is not effective to us unless it becomes personal, that is, we apply it faithfully and gain experience from it. Exercising your soul and spirit from unfruitful works.

Some mostly read to word of God, others only study it. But they that Do and Keep the Word of God is blessed of the Lord. This is the lord's doing and it is marvelous in our sight. In order to receive this blessing we have to Do something.

"What does it profit, my brethren, though a man says he has faith, and has not works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, 'Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; not withstanding you give them  not the things which are needful to the body; what does it profit? Even so faith, if it has not works , is dead being alone." James 2:14-17.

God wants us to live and walk in His commandments. We are to be DOERS and not just hearers of the Word.

"Whosoever cometh to me, and hearth my sayings, and doeth them, I will show you to who he is like: he is like a man which build an house, and digger deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat violently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that hearth, and doeth not, if like a man that without a fountain built an house upon the earth; against with the stream did beat violently, and immediately ie fell; and the ruin of that house was great.: Luke 6:46-49.

Ezekiel prophesied, there were hearers of the word only, and not doers of the word.

"Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people stiller talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the house, and speak to one another, every one to his brother, saying, 'Come, I pray you, and hear what the word that cometh forth from the Lord, And they come  unto thee as the people cometh forth from theLord, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after covetous ness. And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not. And when this cometh to pass, (lo,it will come) then they shall know that a prophet hath been among them." Ezekiel 33:30-33.

James tells us the state of the forgetful hearer:

"But be  ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a m an beholding his natural face in a glass for he behold himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetter what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of livery, and continuity therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." James 1:22-25.

Wisdom is know to others. Given so grate a witness to the workings of the Word of God. Shouldn't we give ourselves wholly to God and His wonderful word of truth? Let's no longer serve in sin and the flesh to our own destruction, but let's be doers of God's Word, giving ourselves totally to Him who gave himself for us.
