Cady arrested after vehicle crash

On March 7, Mercer County sheriff's deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash on US Route 67 on the south edge of Preemption. Upon deputies arrival it was determined that the driver had fled from the scene. The driver Nathan T. Cady, age 23, of Milan was located a short time later fleeing from a residence in Preemption. Cady received minor injuries from the crash and was transported to Trinity Medical Center.

Cady was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report accident to police authority, driving too fast for conditions, failure to wear seatbelt by driver and illegal transportation of alcohol by driver. Cady was transported to the Mercer County jail where he later posted bond and was released.

The Mercer County sheriff's department was assisted by Sherrard fire and ambulance, Trinity ambulance and Brad's towing.
