16 kilos of heroin found in traffic stop

On Sunday (8-22-10) at approximately 11 a.m., Illinois State Police Troopers stopped a blue Chevrolet pickup for speeding on I-80 East Bound in the vicinity of Mile Marker 13 (6 miles west of Geneseo). During a vehicle search, approximately 16 kilos of heroin was located. The occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody.

Driver: Thomas S. Brennen, M/W, 32, Clementon, NJ

Passenger: Robert D. Huckel, M/W, 30, Bellmawr, NJ

Brennen was transported to Henry County jail on charges of: Possession of a controlled substance and trafficking. He is currently awaiting arraignment. While in police custody, Huckel experienced a medical emergency and was transported by ambulance to local hospital. Once released, he will be transported to Henry County jail to await arraignment on the same charges as Brennen.

Inquiries on further charges can be referred to the Henry County States Attorney's Office. Brennen and Huckel are presumed innocent of all charges until proven in a court of law.
