Burglary ring caught in Mercer County
A joint investigation conducted by the Mercer County Sheriff's Office and the Aledo Police Department has resulted in the arrest of five individuals. An investigation was conducted into numerous car burglaries and garage burglaries that occurred the week before Thanksgiving and the week of Thanksgiving in Aledo, rural Aledo, Millersburg and Seaton areas.
The five individuals currently in custody are Evan C. Bodeen, 20, Viola; Daniel J. Rogers, 18, of Joy; Thomas J. Miller, 21, of Matherville; Joshua M. Anderson, 20 of Aledo and Gage H. Ruggles, 17, of rural Aledo. The investigation is ongoing and further arrests are pending.
Ruggles was arrested Dec. 13 outside his residence in Millersburg. A juvenile female was also arrested during this incident. Both Ruggles and the juvenile female were charged with possession of cannabis. They were transported to the Mercer County Jail to be booked in. The juvenile was released with a Notice to Appear in Mercer County Court. Ruggles remains in custody on a $20,000 bond.
