The Mercer County Sheriff's Department has released a sketch of the man wanted in connection with the robbery of the 1st Community Bank of Sherrard Monday. Dec. 10.

The subject is described as a light skinned black male about 25 years of age with a thin face and build standing between 5-8 and 5-11. He may wear an earring in his right ear.

He was wearing black or dark colored jeans, a black hood type sweatshirt, black hat and gloves and had his face covered with a black stkitype mask. He claimed to have a weapon but didn't display it.

The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of money leaving the scene northbound in a four door sedan described as green or bluish green in color.

The suspect was wearing a hat and his face was mostly covered.

Thompson said the Federal Bureau of Investigation had been informed of the case and the Illinois State Police Crime scene investigation team was at the site.

Thompson said the case is being treated separately from the bank robbery that occurred in Viola in November noting the suspects difference in appearance.
