Rockridge is lowering its tax rate to 3.97239 per $100 of assessed valuation, down from the 2007-2008 rate of 4.015. The district budget is increasing by about 8.4 percent, according to Superintendent Jack Bambrick.

The district's equalized assessed valuation is expected to be $167,200,000 up from last year's EAV of $155,100,000.

The Rockridge CUSD #200 Board met Nov. 17, 2008 and named the following winter coaches:

Wrestling: Keith Amy, Andy Purdy and Dave King, Freshmen girls’ basketball: Kayla Cole, Sohpomore girls' basketball, Carissa Pollpeter, seventh grade boys' basketball: Josh Killingsworth, freshmen boys' basketball: Tyler Matlick, sophomore boys' basketball: Joe Robinson, eighth grade boys' basketball: Logan Wynn, eight grade girls' basketball: Tom DeClerk, cheerleading: Jennifer Hamerlinck. Curtis Oelschlaeger and Jake Walker were named co-directors for the winter play.

The board approved spending $50,549 for a new bus from Central States and $70,359 for another bus from Midwest Transit.

Payment for roof repairs at Andalusia Elementary and at the Rockridge Junior-Senior High buildings in the amount of $57,596 were also approved. The repairs were due to the summer storm damage.

A playground purchase proposal was requested for Reynolds and Taylor Ridge schools. An opportunity came about that gave the district a good deal on some equipment, according to the superintendent. The board approved the purchase, in an amount not to exceed $10,000.

The board also approved an overnight stay for basketball players involved in the State Farm Classic over the winter holiday.

The board did review Oct. 29, 2008 board goals, which will be brought back at the Dec. 8, 2008  meeting for approval.
