The Apollo Peace Prize, sponsored by the Aledo Rotary Club, has been created to award outstanding respectful behavior at Apollo Elementary.  All students are taught to respect yourself, respect others, and respect property. Several students not only choose to behave respectfully, but also choose behavior that is exemplary and stand out as role models and peacemakers in their classroom and beyond.

The following have been chosen from all the nominations for the first quarter. One winner is chosen from grades K-2 nominations and the other from grades 3-5 nominations.

The Apollo Peace Prize winners for the first quarter are Brandon Skovronski, a fourth grader in Mrs. Mary Flint's class and Jayden Klingaman, a second grader in Mrs. Sarah Hall's class.

As peacemakers both students have been helpful in their classrooms taking initiative by helping the new students acclimate to the class activities. The transition for the new students has been smooth given the respectful behavior of Brandon and Jayden.

The Aledo Rotary Club also awarded an honorary Apollo Peace Prize to the school librarian, Marge Seiver. She always goes above and beyond the call of duty by leading and serving on several committees. She also provides TLC and tutoring to students when the need arises. She is an exemplary role model for everyone here at Apollo.
