Before the Mercer County Board of Education meeting got down to business Wednesday, Sept. 22, two presentations were made to the district - One, a plaque from National Committee for Employee Support of the Guard and Reserves (ESGR), a non-profit group and the second, a $648 check from Knuckle Busters Car Club. Half of the money from the car club's show during Aledo Antique Days at the end of August was matched by Aledo Chapter 20110 of Royal Neighbors of America.

Members of the Knuckle Busters Car Club and Aledo Chapter 20110 of Royal Neighbors of America presented a $648 check to the Mercer County School Board for the Pay to Play Program.

The group raised $324 during a 50/50 raffle at the Knuckle Busters Car Show during Aledo's Antique Days in August and with a match from Royal Neighbors of America, $648 will go to help sponsor area students interested in participating in sports programs at Mercer County High School.

The Knuckle Busters Car Club and Royal Neighbors of America Chapter 20110 are made up of area residents who have a passion for show cars and a desire to make a difference in the community.
