CSC Choirs Present “The Glory of the Organ” on Feb. 25
The Carl Sandburg College Choirs will present “The Glory of the Organ” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at First Christian Church, located at 301 N. Broad Street in Galesburg.
“This concert will be shorter than our normal offerings, but the music is richer, more complex, and more difficult than anything the choirs have done in recent years,” said James Hutchings, coordinator and instructor of music at CSC. “The pieces themselves focus around the organ, its sound, and various ways of evoking mood through its many registers.” The evening will also feature solo performances by CSC alumni, including Charles Spurgeon, and soprano Sarah Moran, Lecturer in Voice and Opera Workshop at Knox College. Also joining the choir are accompanist Daniel Godsil and violinists Rachel Goldstein and Bo Ram Lee.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact James Hutchings, coordinator and instructor of music, at (309) 341-5317 or firstname.lastname@example.org
