College Students Need to File FAFSA by March 1

College students seeking financial aid need to submit their file the FAFSA by March 1. Students need to file right away to be considered for the State of Illinois MAP grants, as well as be considered for other state and federal funding. Interested applicants should visit the CSC Financial Aid Office, located in the lower E Building at 2400 Tom L. Media reports that the State of Illinois expects to run out of funds very early this year. According to a report from the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) website, “The U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1, a continuing resolution (CR) that cuts the maximum Pell Grant for students this fall by 15 percent (up to $845) and eliminates an additional $56 billion in mandatory Pell funding over the next 10 years.”
